I'm serious, Goro, that rail system is not user-friendly.

Yeah. Sojiro doesn't want me going off on my own just yet. I've only been here a few days. I don't think he trusts me (∥￣■￣∥)

[And to be honest? It's nerve-wracking. He's been friends with Goro for a while now and it's hardly the first time he's made a friend over the internet, but he's never met one of his online friends in real life.

[ he'll show up at eight precisely! working on tv tends to lend itself to being on time no matter how crazy traffic is. angry reporters and directors are the worst.

he steps into the familiar leblanc with his usual calm demeanor, but truth be told, he had lingered at the start of the street for a few moments. had stalled and thought better of coming here. akira would be a distraction, and he couldn't afford something like that when he was so close. less than a year before he could get his revenge. and yet... and yet he still heads inside, for better or for worse, hair perfectly fluffy and outfit devoid of any wrinkles. ]

[Akira looks up from the book he was reading, ready to head up to his room until Sojiro nods and just says "Akechi".

Then he's smiling.]

Goro?

[ ........ oh.

There's something other than boring physical attraction. It bubbles and simmers under the surface and he doesn't know quite what it is. Fate? ]

Ah. Hello, Akira.

[ It feels odd hearing his given name aloud. ]

[He nods. He looks nothing like someone who'd abuse emojis and kaomojis, but here he is in all his fluffy glory.]

Yeah, that's me. Surprise?

A bit. [ he heads over and takes a seat nearest akira, ignoring the tiny-smirk that sojiro gives him. ]

You're cuter in person. [ zing ]

If I'm cuter than kaomoji, maybe I should start looking into lolita fashion while I'm here.

I hope this isn't hurting your heart to hear, Boss.

[ he says it loftily over to sojiro, but doesn't look away from akira. ]

[He's not even paying attention anymore because what.

Akira laughs a little, resting his chin on a fist]

I heard what some of the regulars were talking about on my way in from the baths. Trust me, a guy in a coord is the least weird thing he's heard about today.

[ He says it almost fondly, unable to stifle the genuine laugh that spills forth from Akira's comment. This is ... new to him. Definitely similar to their texts, but realer. ]

[Akira shrugs, murmuring a thanks when Sojiro drops a cup of (decaf) coffee in front of him.]

I just don't know when to stop talking. You're the interesting one, Goro. I was watching your latest TV appearance on the train ride out.

[ There's the stirrings of a smile and he leans his cheek against the back of his hand, eyes affixed to Akira. ]

That's decidedly unfair, that you knew ahead of time who I was.

I guessed, really.

[That's a really intense stare there, Goro...but Akira manages to meet it. Mostly. It's amazing what a flimsy barrier like glasses will do for someone's confidence under scrutiny like this.]

The way you talked, the occasional mention of TV reporters, the one time you mentioned working late on a case...and really, how many "Goro Akechi"s can there be in Japan?

[ A lofty chuckle. ]

I hadn't pictured you as the type to indulge in the news, but I suppose I should have known better.

[ It's strange, how he can't exactly look away. Usually people bore him, but... ]

Are you enjoying Tokyo so far?

I only indulge when it's interesting.

[Akira finally looks away to drink his coffee, shrugging.]

It's alright so far. I'm going to be late to class my first week there, but I'll manage.
