Hey, the only reason I didn't get the wine to go with it is I don't think they'd sell it to me.

[ that i'm a liar? he thinks, blandly, to himself as he takes a set at the counter, setting the plates down gently and placing the cheesecake on them accordingly. forks are now set, too, and he wonders how long he can savor this moment. ]

[And because this is Goro, Akira nods his head towards his boyfriend(?)'s crotch.]

[ ...... oh my god. he blinks and then makes a laugh, one that isn't fake and sounds almost like a snort. ]

I suppose you'll have to find out.

Oh, promising.

[Akira grins]

[ sorry he's going to eat his cheesecake now. ]

I'm asking you.

[He gets a slice and joins him, leaning close.]

Are you teasing?

That's hardly a fair question to ask over dessert.

Oh? Why?

[ he takes a bite of his cheesecake, deliberately letting his lips linger on the fork, eyes peering at akira warmly. ]

...teasing prince.

[Akira reaches over and steals a bite from Goro.]

[ he smiles, fondly, and lets akira steal as much as he pleases. it's not like they didn't do that before they started dating. ]

[They don't go much further the rest of the night, but that's fine with Akira. He's just glad he isn't going lose his best friend.

It's a near thing, though. After Futaba wakes up, they have to handle Okumura--and while he didn't die at their hands, someone did manage to kill him after he collapsed mid-confession from what doctors say was a case of pneumonia gone undiagnosed. It was horrible, but that just made getting Shido out of the way more important.

And after a detour into Makoto's sister's palace in order to save their own asses, they do. Shido confesses to being the mind behind the breakdowns, for using it to benefit his career, and for having several bastard children around Japan. He even calls Goro up after the confession to apologize in tears.

It's awesome.

Akira texts Goro to let him know that whenever Goro's ready to deal with people, Akira'll be waiting. He understands that he may need a day or two after all that.]

[ It's so odd to finally have his anger fade away. To finally get his revenge. He thinks, to himself, that if not for Akira, he would have died at the hands of his father. He would have let his revenge cause him to burn down in fire and flames. He's - so glad for Akira.

It definitely takes him a few days to get back to normal, to settle in to life and the strange emptiness having his revenge finally accomplished. When that hole disappears, of course, it leaves him with a strange loneliest, an aching that's the shape of Kurusu. ]
