jurisdick ( it was a tossup whether or not his classes or the clientele at his after hours job was the worst part of his nineteenth year of life.
on the one hand, his classes were filled with know-it-alls from petigrees and lineages that made his own orphaned backstory all the more embarrassing. on the other hand, his night job consisted of making powerful concoctions and playing therapist to some of the sadder regulars. and akechi isn’t exactly the best to be playing therapist to anyone. casual, airy chitchat? that’s fine. listening to somber backstories while his coworkers - his male coworkers - paraded around in colorful yukatas and brighter makeup. so yeah, it was a toss up.
apparently, even though he was clearly of age, his boss hadn’t exactly allowed him to fully indulge in the crossroad experience. something about this being his first week and he should really feel it out and find himself.
... finding himself led to smaller tips. but at least he didn’t feel out of place putting his longer, shaggy hair up in a ponytail and wearing a v-neck, where at school his classmates would snidely snicker. elitist bastards.
if he wasn’t so god damn determined to finish and use his degree and accreditation to prove everyone wrong....
alas. alas, here he was, elbows up at the bar, idly dragging a damp cloth along the bartop to polish it. tuesday were... slow. very slow. )
