yumenope ( it’s routine, really.
the life of a thief is a serious of quick anecdotes and scenes, filled in with underlying themes of hunger and woe. for gentaro, that’s been the case since his teenage years when the elderly couple who had been raising him had passed away and had every single penny left to their name snatched away by the authorities. it left gentaro to fend for himself, and really, that wasn’t so hard — steal this, avoid that, sleep here. life was a series of misadventures.
it wasn’t a great life, but it was something. one day, he’d strike gold, convince the wrong (right) person of a lie, and he’d be out of this hell. he’d be back on track. it was a lofty goal for a thief — especially one so low-ranking amongst the unruly band he had associated himself with — but it was a starting point.
and like any good starting point, his lead him to the local brother to scout out possible leads. after all, of men had money to dispose of here, certainly they’d be flush enough to rob or blackmail into not telling their supposed spouses.
granted, while gentaro was one of the more effeminate male workers, he still was less garbed than he’d like. a headdress, midriff and loose pants didn’t exactly leave too much to the imagination. if he had it his way, he’d be buttoned up - locked up - to the maximum.
but so was life and so was worth.
maybe tonight wouldn’t be so boring. )
