[ it's honestly not that big of an adjustment for him. not really. hibiki had never envisioned himself with a significant other, let alone a fiance soon-to-be-husband in a few months. he always surrounded himself with close friends and family but he had never really thought he was cut out for a relationship. they were messy and complicated and he never really understood how feelings developed beyond fleeting crushes that always stemmed from the new and sparkly effect of meeting someone. but he didn't mind - friends were wonderful and he wasn't that desperate. he had his own ways of taking out any pent up frustration.

so when his parents - very traditional, very modest, very borderline poor merchants deign it necessary to wed their son to climb the social ladder he's ... well he's a tad hurt. true he hadn't really been planning on picking out his own romantic partner, but it still stings he had absolutely no say.

but he's ever quick to bounce back. that, and he can't ever stay mad. if it's for the family and for everyone's good, it can't possibly be that bad. he'll just live with someone and be seen in public with them - it's not that tough of a gig.

and yet - and yet he's still nervous as hell to meet his fiance. who wouldn't be...? ]
